3 WEEKS AWAY!

So,

I decided that I am going to have a blog for my trip in Italy...I will try to keep it updated while I am there so everyone here at home can have a good idea of how my life is going!

I leave from O'Hare in 3 weeks. I am so excited...People have asked me if I am nervous, or if I will be homesick...and really, I'm not at all. I am so ready for this new experience- to go to a completely foreign (and absolutely BEATIFUL) place and not know anyone at all.

For those of you who don't know, I will be taking studio art courses in Cortona, Italy (located in the heart of tuscany, about 45 minutes from Florence). Specifically, I will be taking Photography, Ceramics, and Art History. What better place to learn about art than where the renaisance was?!!

I will first be flying into Naples, where everyone in my program will meet up and have our orientation. We will spend about 3 days there, then travel to Rome and spend another couple days there. My program in Cortona won't start until June 14th. We will go on field trips around Italy (including Sienna, Arezzo, and Florence) every Saturday. So keep on the look out for my experiences in all these wonderful places! My adventure will end in Venice, and I will be returning home on August 10th.
